Apart from the first episode, apparently the anime Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan again includes many pop culture references in some of its comedy scenes.
What are the references that have resurfaced this time? Here is the list!
1. Noko transforms into a character modeled after Hokuto no Ken
The scene occurs when Koshi finds the club room that he just arranged is in a complete mess.
He himself had accused Noko of doing it. But the deer girl said that the place was already in ruins before she came. Therefore, she felt the situation was dangerous.
As Koshi was about to leave, suddenly a kunai flew towards him and Noko. Luckily, both of them managed to dodge it.
From there, Noko suddenly changed into a muscular character with a firm face like the manga characters. The Hokuto of Ken.
2. The terms Hokage and kunai weapons from the Naruto series appear when Anko interrogates Koshi.
After the perpetrator was discovered to be Anko, Koshi’s younger sister, the dark-haired girl interrogated her brother whether it was true that he had slept with Noko.
The problem is, he asked that while pointing a kunai, a typical weapon commonly used in the series. Naruto.
Koshi also mentioned the term Hokage, the leader of Konoha village when he saw his younger brother acting like a bloodthirsty shinobi.
3. Koshi is known to like the shoujo manga magazine Bessatsu Friend which does exist in the real world.
During a quiz discussing Koshi’s shame, there was a question about how many men the girl had slept with.
Noko had answered zero but it turned out to be wrong. Well, Anko added that Koshi actually had a first love experience but from the manga shojo.
The narrator of the story himself added that all Koshi read was Bessatsu Friend, a manga magazine in the genre shojo produced by Kodansha.
4. Noko’s body smokes like a dead Titan in Shingeki no Kyojin
At the peak of the conflict, Anko was furious and threw all her kunai at Noko. However, she slipped so that her throw went astray to Koshi.
Luckily, Noko quickly protected Koshi by using her body as a shield. As a result, Anko’s kunai managed to stab the deer girl.
There, Noko seemed to be dying with her body emitting smoke. This reminded us of the Titans from the series Shingeki no Kyojin which usually emits smoke if killed by a Survey Corps soldier.
That’s a list of references in anime Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan episode 2.
