5 characters that Broly would beat (and 5 that he wouldn’t) in Dragon Ball

Broly is a legendary figure in the world of Dragon Ball, famous for being one of the most powerful Saiyans. Born with exceptional power, he was exiled to Planet Vampa, where he grew and became stronger. Known as the Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly is a warrior who appears only once every millennium, standing out in “Dragon Ball Super: Broly” for his almost unlimited power. Despite his impressive strength, he has a penchant for peace. However, his ability to grow in battle makes him one of the most feared fighters in the series.

Characters Capable of Challenging Broly

Gogeta: The Powerful Fusion

Gogeta, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, is a formidable character in “Dragon Ball”. This Metamoran fusion combines the abilities of two of the anime’s strongest warriors. In the confrontation against Broly, Gogeta Blue demonstrated that he was clearly superior, showing that in a long fight, Broly would have difficulty against this formidable opponent.

Vegito: Another Formidable Fusion

Vegito, also the result of the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, but using the Potara earrings, can be even stronger than Gogeta. He overpowered Fused Zamasu, indicating his exceptional power. Although Vegito and Broly haven’t fought, it’s likely that Vegito would have the upper hand in a hypothetical matchup.

Beerus: The God of Destruction

Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7, has extraordinary abilities, such as Beerus’ Judgment and Hakai. He defeated Goku in his Super Saiyan God form without maximum effort, suggesting that despite Broly being very powerful, Beerus still has the advantage due to his godlike status and unique powers.

Jiren: The Strength That Surpasses Gods

Jiren, a member of the Pride Troopers of Universe 11, stood out in the Tournament of Power for his strength that surpasses even Gods of Destruction. Able to rival Goku’s Ultra Instinct, Jiren is a formidable threat, possibly capable of surpassing Broly, especially if he has become stronger since the tournament.

Whis: The Superior Angel

Whis, Beerus’ angel and attendant, is known to be stronger than the God of Destruction himself. His abilities are practically limitless, including the use of Autonomous Ultra Instinct and time manipulation. Whis, with his strength and skills, could easily face and defeat Broly, serving as an asset in extreme situations.

Characters Least Likely to Defeat Broly

Goku: Not Ready Yet

Goku, the Saiyan of Universe 7, is known for his ability to continually grow in strength. Despite acquiring powers like Ultra Instinct, he still doesn’t seem to have enough strength to defeat Broly. This inferiority, however, serves as motivation for Goku, who continues to look for ways to improve himself. Although he is currently behind Broly, the future may hold a turnaround in this dynamic.

Vegeta: The Overcome Prince

Vegeta, the Prince of the Saiyans, is another central character in Dragon Ball and a close rival of Goku. Despite his significant feats and victories, such as defeating Toppo, he is still a step behind Broly in terms of raw power. Even with the possibility of Ultra Ego, Vegeta’s most recent form, the advantage still seems to lean towards Broly.

Hit: Time-Skip Limits

Hit, the Universe 6 assassin, is notable for his ability to skip time. Although this technique is effective against many opponents, Goku and Jiren have already shown that it is possible to counter it. Considering that Broly is stronger than Goku, it’s reasonable to assume that he could also surpass Hit’s ability.

Toppo: Less Strong than Goku and Vegeta

Toppo, a member of the Pride Troopers and candidate for God of Destruction, is undeniably powerful. However, his strength was surpassed by Goku and Vegeta during the Tournament of Power. As both are inferior to Broly, logically, Toppo would also be at a disadvantage in a fight against him.

Cell Max: Unrealized Potential

The Cell Max issue is a little more complex. Inspired by Semi-Perfect Cell from Dragon Ball Z, Cell Max could have been incredibly powerful if completed as planned. Akira Toriyama, the series’ creator, suggested that a full Cell Max would be stronger than Broly. However, the version that was activated prematurely became an uncontrollable monster, lacking the combat efficiency necessary to overcome Broly. Although theoretically it may be stronger, in practice, Cell Max has not reached its full potential.

So there you have it, 5 characters that Broly would beat (and 5 that he wouldn’t) in Dragon Ball.
