With the addition of Jinbe, the Straw Hats already have 10 members.
Is that enough? Actually, they already feel complete, especially with the addition of a helmsman as great as Jinbe.
But if you think about it, there are still at least six positions that can be filled in the Straw Hats.
What positions are still vacant at the Straw Hats?
1. Gives command in battle

Even though Luffy is the captain, and Zoro is often considered the deputy captain, they are not the type of people who will lead their men in war.
They can encourage, and help hit, but they can’t give instructions or strategy. In fact, the two usually go off on their own as the climax battle approaches. That’s it, Luffy is the type who doesn’t bother about strategy and instead usually ruins people’s tactics.
Uniquely, this position seems to already have a candidate to fill in: Jinbe.
In chapter 979, Jinbe seems to say that he can be a calm-headed figure when the situation is chaotic.
Let’s see if Jinbe can become a leader, who can give useful orders to the Straw Hats in times of war.
Leaders in battle may not be needed by Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy. However, this position can help other Straw Hats. If Jinbe can analyze the situation, then order figures like Brook, Nami, and Robin to attack the right targets, the Straw Hats’ effectiveness will increase until they can fight more enemies more easily.
2. Apprentice

Apprentice is a young pirate. They were usually assigned to trivial jobs such as cleaning ships.
If you think about it, it also happens that the Thousand Sunny currently doesn’t have a crew whose job is specifically to clean the ship.
In Whitebeard’s group, Marshall D. Teach was once apprentice. In Roger’s group, Buggy and Shanks are apprentice. In the Rocks group? Kaido used to be apprentice there. When Rocks was heyday, Kaido didn’t have a name like Big Mom and Shiki.

4. Lookout

This is the person who is usually placed on the mast to look around.
The Thousand Sunny even has a special observation room, which Zoro also uses for training.
Actually, all the Straw Hats could be too lookout. This position was held by Robin, Usopp, and others.
Even so, it might be interesting if there was a character who was a specialist as a supervisor.
I think this situation is similar to the helmsman. Since Going Merry, helmsman is a position that the Straw Hats have held alternately. Nami, Usopp, Chopper, Franky, and Sanji have all been shown to be helmsmen.
But once there was a specialist, Jinbe, the quality felt much different compared to when it was the Straw Hats’ turn.
So it doesn’t seem wrong for the Straw Hats to add a supervisor whose job is just that.
Who is worthy of this position? In the past, Carrot felt worthy too lookout. However, as previously mentioned, Carrot is now the new leader of Mokomo Dukedom.
5. Tailor

The Straw Hats’ adventure may be nearing its end. But that doesn’t mean they will be short of adventure.
They still have to visit dangerous places, including perhaps the Mary Geoise. It would be great if there was someone who could help make costumes or repair their costumes if they were damaged.
Especially since Luffy often experiences clothing damage.
Kin’emon with his strength could have solved this problem, but Kin did not join the Straw Hats. He is still in Wano now.
6. Trip logger
Toei Animation/One PieceIf one day Yamato really joins the Straw Hats, this could be his position.
In the past, Kozuki Oden recorded his journey with the Roger Pirates.
If Yamato really wants to be like Oden, then it would be good if he recorded Luffy’s journey to reach Laugh Tale.
It could even be unique if Yamato’s writings are discovered by other characters, and those notes become material for telling Luffy’s story to the next generation.
