7 Perbedaan Signifikan Solo Leveling Versi Anime Dan Manhwa

As previously discussed, anime adaptation Solo Leveling gets a little difference in terms of story. One thing that stands out is the problem of the ant dungeon on Jeju Island which is now being revealed early.

What are the differences between the anime and manhwa versions? Solo Leveling?

1. Jeju island dungeon raids in the past are revealed

In contrast to the manhwa version which only mentions this raid moment through dialogue between characters, the anime version shows it much more fully.

There are also a number of figures who debuted much earlier, such as Min Byung-Gyu, Baek Yoonho, and Choi Jong-In.

Based on Choi Jong-In’s memories, the raid was known to have succeeded in causing many casualties, so he was determined to conquer the dungeon again with a more mature operational plan than before.

2. Specifically for the Japanese region, the names in anime Solo Leveling changed to Japanese name

This difference is specific to broadcasts in the Japanese version.

In anime Solo Leveling which aired in Japan, the characters’ names were changed to Japanese names. What stands out most is that Sung Jin Woo was replaced by Shun Mizushino.

Since we’re not in Japan, if you watch Solo Leveling on official sources (say Netflix), this difference is not felt. The names of the characters are still Sung Jin Woo and friends as we know them.

3. Cha Hae-In has appeared since the first episode

Apart from the hunters who take part in the dungeon raid, the main heroine of the story is shown much earlier.

Well, Cha Hae-In is known to have appeared in the first episode when he caught the snatchers who snatched a civilian’s bag. After that, he also appeared several times, such as when he met Choi Jong-In and was visited by a representative from Yoo Myunghan’s company.

Even though in the manhwa version, Cha Hae-In only appeared when Jin-Woo debuted as a mine worker in chapter 65.

4. Kang Taeshik is the person who accompanies Woo Jinchul

After the Double Dungeon incident, Jin-Woo found himself waking up in the hospital and met by two members of the Korean Hunter Association, namely Woo Jinchul and his partner.

So, in the manhwa version, Woo Jinchul is accompanied by an extra character whose name is completely unknown.

However, in the anime version, the person accompanying Woo Jinchul is Kang Taeshik.

There is a possible reason why he was included in the story so that the storyline during the raid incident with the prisoners made sense.

5. The difference in Jin-Woo’s reaction when he heard Jinho’s offer

This moment also has a striking difference in the anime and manhwa versions.

In the manhwa version, Jin-Woo accepts Jinho’s request to raid the dungeon together on the condition that only the two of them enter. For the rest, the remaining members can wait outside.

Meanwhile, the anime version adds a little spice where Jin-Woo refuses even though in the end he accepts the request.

6. Double Dungeon survivors get more spotlight

As we know, apart from Jin-Woo, the Double Dungeon survivors rarely get the spotlight except during raid moments with the inmates.

So, in the manhwa version, there are those who get more attention, namely, Lee Joohee and Kim Sangshik.

Lee Joohee had a chance to telephone her mother about the problem of her job as a hunter which was now starting to endanger her life. Meanwhile, Kim Sangshik gets a scene together with his small family.

7. The Hunters Guild was the first group to discover winged ants

In the manhwa version, the appearance of the winged ant itself is only introduced in chapter 80, where it is shown to have reached mainland Japan.

However, in the anime version, this creature appeared at the moment the Hunters guild departed for Jeju Island in episode 11.

Well, when they almost reached their destination, the group found a dead ant which had apparently evolved into a winged form.

That’s a list of the differences between the anime and manhwa adaptations Solo Leveling.
