The official website for the anime adaptation of the spinoff manga After-School Hanako-kun (Hōkago Shōnen Hanako-kun) by Iro Aida put this trailer online where we can hear the ending theme “Koi! Koi Koi” (Come to Me, Deep Love) by Akari Kitō and the characters Nene Yashiro and Mokke.
With its premiere scheduled for October 12, 2023, the animation is the responsibility of the studios Lerche (Astra Lost in Space, Assassination Classroom) and Studio Hibarithe direction is Masaki Kitamura (assistant director of Gundam 00), the argument is Kazuma Nagatomo and the character design is Aya Higami.
The cast will be the same as the anime series Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun).
Synopsis of After-School Hanako-kun
The ghostly Hanako-kun and his mortal assistant Nene Yashiro are usually busy solving various supernatural incidents at Kamome Academy, but how do they spend their time when they have a break from it all? Come and see what the characters of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun do in their relaxed days after school!
After-School Hanako-kun began publishing on Pixiv Comics in February 2018 and ended with its 25th chapter in October 2021. Its only volume was released by Square Enix in August 2019.
At the end of 2022, it was announced that the manga’s anime project Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun) was going to be “rebooted”. The anime premiered in January 2020 and had 12 episodes.
As for the history of After-School Hanako-kun:
At Kamome Academy, there are many rumors about the school’s Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Believed to occupy the third door of the third floor women’s toilet in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned.
