The official website for the anime series adaptation of the novel An Archdemon’s Dilemma – How to Love Your Elf Bride in Fuminori Teshima posted this trailer online where it is revealed that the premiere will take place in 2024.
In addition to the promotional image that you can see below, the staff and cast were also revealed.
The animation is from the studio BrainsBase (To Your Eternity), directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori (RIN-NE 3, Kiss Him, Not Me, Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi) and animation supervision is by Keiji Gotoh (In/Spectre, Kiddy Grade). The argument is Aya Yoshinaga (Crest of the Stars, Project ARMS, Kurau: Phantom Memory), the character design is by Mina Ōsawa (Given, The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest, School Babysitters) and the soundtrack is the responsibility of Yuma Yamaguchi (Metallic Rouge, Undead Murder Farce).
In the cast we have:
- Yusuke Kobayashi (Subaru in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) as Zagan
- Kana Ichinose (Fern in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as Nephy
An Archdemon’s Dilemma – How to Love Your Elf Bride began publication in February 2017 and its 17th volume was released on August 1, 2023. A manga adaptation by Hako Itagaki It began publication in February 2018 and its 11th volume will be released on December 1, 2023.

Zagan is feared by the masses as an evil sorcerer. Both socially awkward and foul-mouthed, he spends his days studying sorcery while taking down any invaders within his domain. One day he is invited to a dark auction, and what he finds there is an elven slave of unparalleled beauty, Nephy. In love at first sight, Zagan uses all his fortune to buy her, but being a poor conversationalist, he has no idea how to properly interact with her. Thus begins the strange coexistence of a sorcerer who has no idea how to convey his love and his slave who longs for her master, but has no idea how to attract him.
