It was announced today on the official website that A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Herothe anime series adaptation of the novel Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyūtan (The story of an exploration hero who has worked his way up from common people) by Kaitowill premiere in July 2024 (Summer anime season).
The animation is from the studio Gekkō (My One-Hit Kill Sister), directed by Tomoki Kobayashi (Utawarerumono, Takunomi., Akame ga KILL!), the argument is Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Black Clover, Girls’ Last Tour) and the character design is by Shōko Yasuda (My Happy Marriage, Am I Actually the Strongest?). With production by Starry Cube music is the responsibility of Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?).
In the cast we have:
- Yuya Hozumi (Keyaru in Redo of Healer) as Kaito Takagi
- Kana Hanazawa (Mitsuri in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Sylphy
Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyūtan (The story of an exploration hero who has worked his way up from common people) began publication in Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2019 and its 7th volume was released on September 29, 2023. A manga adaptation by Teri It began publishing in August 2021 in Dokodemo Young Champion and its first volume was released in February 2022.
Synopsis of Mob kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyūtan
The story revolves around Kaito Takagi, a student with a mafia character and low status. He is an ordinary explorer who hunts slimes every day in the dungeons that appear in Japan. One day, he finds a golden slime that he has never seen before. Perplexed, he still manages to defeat the slime and obtain an extremely rare item called a “servant card”, which can summon mythical beings and has a value of hundreds of millions. Once decided, he is also able to summon Valkyrie, a beautiful warrior maiden. Kaito begins his adventure to go from mobster to hero.
