Many times some animes place small references as a tribute to other animes and that’s exactly what happened in episode 9 of the anime series adaptation of Solo Leveling which placed a reference to Dragon Ball.
In episode 9 of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo does a little dance to prepare for a battle, and fans found the scene familiar. Turns out it’s the same warm-up that Goku did when facing Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. The angles are correct, making it a clearly purposeful reference.
Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 68, and the news of his death was highlighted around the world, such is the influence of Dragon Ball not only in anime and manga but also in Pop culture.
