The event AnimeJapan 2024 is being held this weekend in Japan and the anime trailer was revealed at the Netflix panel at the event The Grimm Variationsan anime series that will debut on the streaming service on April 17, 2024. In addition to the trailer, a poster for the anime series was also revealed.
In the description of The Grimm Variations we can read:
Inspired by the classic stories of the Brothers Grimm, this anthology presents six fairy tales with a dark twist, exposing the dark side of human desire.
In June 2021 we reported that the Netflix would be working with CLAMP (X, Cardcaptor Sakura) to produce an anime series based on Grimm’s Tales (Grimms’ Fairy Tales) by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The animation was delivered to Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Great Pretender, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress). The story of the anime is written by Michiko Yokote (Bleach, Gintama, xxxHOLiC).
According to Varietythe anime will present a “modern touch” to Grimm’s Tales, and will have elements of the horror and suspense genres. To the CLAMP made over 20 character designs for the anime.
Grimm’s Tales (in the original German Kinder- und Hausmärchen) is a collection of fairy tales and other stories, initially published in 1812 by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (Brothers Grimm).
