The event AnimeJapan 2024 is being held this weekend in Japan and the Netflix at the event, the teaser trailer for the final season of the anime series adaptation of the manga was revealed BEASTARS in Paru Itagaki.
A Netflix revealed that the Part 1 in BEASTARS Final Season will premiere in 2024, and Part 2 “soon”.
The staff is the same so we have animation at the studio Orange that you know from animes like Land of the Lustrous and Dimension W, the direction is by Shinichi Matsumi (assistant director of Pom Poko, Porco Rosso; episodes of Rurouni Kenshin, Rage of Bahamut Genesis), the story is by Nanami Higuchi (Little Witch Academia, Ninja Slayer From Animation) and the character design is by Nao Ootsu (weapon design from Saga of Tanya the Evil). Music is the responsibility of Satoru Kousaki (Wake Up, Girls!, Oreimo both seasons, Monogatari Series Second Season).
BEASTARS was published in Japan by Weekly Shonen Champion from September 2016 to October 2020.
Out of curiosity, the author of Beastars, Paru Itagakiis the daughter of Keisuke Itagakithe creator of Baki The Grappler.
BEASTARS synopsis
In a world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, herbivores and carnivores coexist. For the teenagers at Cherryton Academy, school life is full of hope, romance, mistrust and unrest. The main character of this story is the wolf Regoshi, a member of the drama club. Despite his menacing appearance, he has a very soft heart and character. Throughout most of his life, he has been the object of fear and hatred from other animals and has become accustomed to this lifestyle. But soon, he finds himself increasingly involved with his classmates who have their own insecurities and realizes that his life at school will take a big turn.
