Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig (Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shir) is an anime series based on the novel Heat the Pig Liver (Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro) by Takuma Sakai. The novel was published in and tells the story of an otaku who is reincarnated as a pig in a fantasy world after eating raw pork liver. He meets Jess, a kind girl who can read minds, and goes on an adventure with her.

The anime adaptation premiered on , and was produced by Project No.9, the studio behind Ro-Kyu- Bu!SS, Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki, and Higehiro. The director was Masayuki Takahashi, who also worked on Higehiro and Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon. The scriptwriter was Deko Akao, who also wrote for Higehiro, Komi Can’t Communicate, and Flying Witch. The character designer was Susumu Watanabe, who also designed for Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! and Yōjo Shachō R. The music was composed by Kenichiro Suehiro and MAYUKO, who also collaborated on Cells at Work!. The voice cast included Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Pig, Tomori Kusunoki as Jess, Miyu Tomita as Ceres, and Kent Itō as Nott.

The anime series was supposed to have 12 episodes, but due to some production issues, the final episode was delayed until .
