At Jump Festa 2024 it was announced that the anime series adaptation of the manga Chainsaw Man in Tatsuki Fujimoto will continue in the form of an anime film dubbed Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc which, as the name suggests, will adapt the “Reze-hen” (Reze Arc) arc of the manga.
On a special note to fans, Tatsuki Fujimoto broke the silence on the film Chainsaw Man.
The motive behind Denji and Reze, who are expendable and used by others, is based on the main characters in the animated film Jin-Roh. I think there are a lot of imperfections in their composition, so I recommend you check out Jin-Roh as well.
Fujimoto Are you talking about the anime film? Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade from the Production I.G.(trailer above). The anime is quite dark and takes place in an alternative reality where Nazi Germany won the Second World War. In this universe, Japan is occupied by Germany as it is a member of the Allies, and the nation begins to fall apart. Kazuki Fuse, a member of an elite anti-terrorist brigade, develops a complex romance with the sister of a young terrorist who detonated herself in front of him.
Still without a release date, we know that the animation Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc It’s from the studio again MAPPA and that seiyuu Reina Ueda will interpret Pray.
The animation for the first season of the anime series Chainsaw Man It’s from the studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of High School, Dororo, Dorohedoro), directed by Ryū Nakayama (Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen episodes), the argument is Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Attack on Titan The Final Season) and the character design is by Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation).
The action is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover, Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls), the technical direction is by Makoto Nakazono (DARLING in the FRANXX, Little Witch Academia), the demons were designed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama (DEVILMAN crybaby, Space Dandy), the art direction is by Yūsuke Takeda (Eden of the East, Vinland Saga) and the music is by kensuke ushio (DEVILMAN crybaby, Liz and the Blue Bird, A Silent Voice).
Chainsaw Man It began publishing in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018.
Synopsis of Chainsaw Man
When his father died, Denji was stuck with a debt he was unable to pay. But thanks to the help of a demon dog he saved named Pochita, Denji is able to survive as a demon hunter for hire. Pochita’s chainsaw powers are very powerful against these demons. And then, when Denji ends up being killed by a demon, Pochita gives up her life to resurrect him. But now Denji has been reborn as a demon-human hybrid… Now he is the “Chainsaw Man”!
