Ah, the “Dragon Ball” universe, right? Always full of adventures and remarkable characters. Let’s talk a little about these all-powerful dragons that appear throughout the series. It’s a really cool theme, and fans love it.
The Magical World of Dragons
So, the Eternal Dragons are these amazing creatures in “Dragon Ball” that grant wishes. If you gather the seven Dragon Balls, you can summon one of these dragons and ask for whatever you want. Over time, several different dragons appeared in the series, each with their own unique powers and characteristics. They’ve already helped bring characters back to life and done other amazing things.
In the various stages of “Dragon Ball”, we have everything from the classic “Dragon Ball”, through “Dragon Ball Z”, “Dragon Ball GT”, to “Dragon Ball Super”. Each series introduced new dragons, expanding the universe and story possibilities.
Shenron, the Classic
Let’s start with Shenron, which is like the original dragon from the “Dragon Ball” series. He first appears when Emperor Pilaf and his gang manage to gather the Dragon Balls. There’s that funny story about Oolong asking for super comfortable underwear, and Shenron grants the wish. But Shenron is not immortal. Does he remember when he was killed by King Piccolo? This was a shock! But later he was revived by Kami. Shenron is well-mannered and impartial, granting wishes without judging whether they are good or bad.
Porunga, the Dragon of Namek
Now, in “Dragon Ball Z”, we meet Porunga, the dragon of Namek. He is very intimidating, all muscular, and has a more imposing appearance. Porunga has a good heart and even a certain sense of humor, but sometimes he is a little impatient. He can grant three wishes, which is more than Shenron. He had that funny scene with Gohan and Krillin taking a while to place their orders and him getting impatient. And when Bulma said he was kind of cute? Hilarious!
Porunga also died the first time he appeared in “Dragon Ball Z”, but was later revived. His death happened because the Guru, who was connected to him, died. But he came back to life when Shenron granted a wish that brought back everyone who was killed by the Frieza Force, including Guru.
Supreme Shenron (Dragon Ball GT)
O Supreme Shenron He’s like the evil brother of the original Shenron. It’s vermilion and has a bit of a sinister vibe. His appearance in “Dragon Ball GT” is tense, because he can fulfill any wish without limits, but it comes at a high price. If you don’t collect all the Black Star Dragon Balls scattered across the galaxy within a year, the planet where the wish was made will go up in flames. Pilaf uses it to transform Goku into a child, and Baby uses it to bring back Planet Vegeta. But then the Black Star Dragon Balls turn to stone and Supreme Shenron disappears from the scene.
Black Smoke Shenron (Dragon Ball GT)
There we have the Black Smoke Shenron, which is the opposite of Shenron in everything. This guy is rude and very rude. He is born from broken Dragon Balls, filled with negative energy, and refuses to grant wishes. Instead, he splits into seven Shadow Dragons, each with their own personality and powers.
Toronbo (Dragon Ball Super)
And it has the Toronbo, which only appears in the “Dragon Ball Super” manga. He is the Eternal Dragon of Planet Cereal and has a calmer vibe. He only needs two Dragon Balls to be summoned, and is very polite, even offering alternative wishes if he thinks the original request is not viable. Granolah summons him to become the strongest fighter in Universe 7, but he has to pay a high price, shortening his life.
Super Shenron (Dragon Ball Super)
Speaking of power, the Super Shenron is probably the most powerful of all. He is summoned by the Super Dragon Balls, which are huge, the size of planets. And this guy makes limitless wishes come true. Zamasu uses it to switch bodies with Goku, and at the end of the Tournament of Power, Android 17 asks to revive all the universes that had been destroyed.
