One of the best things about being a Vtuber is not showing your face or revealing your real name, just using your 2D character to create a persona for yourself and have fun with your subscribers, but even that isn’t possible in China anymore.

According to some online reports, new rules in China mean that influencers with a certain number of fans are required to send, verify and display their identities, showing everyone their real name as well as a photo of their face.

The rules change depending on the social network that Chinese influencers use, but the fact is, several Chinese Vtubers had their identities revealed because of the Chinese government, and this generated a good deal of discussion among fans.
