Hello, Hoss here and today is Commenting Spice and Wolf Ep 1 day, this will be my first contact with this series, I only know this anime by sight but I have never consumed its story in any type of media.
I’ve never read the light novel, I’ve never picked up a manga to watch, I’ve never watched the old anime, nothing, so this will be a totally new experience, let’s see if I enjoy it.
Commenting Spice and Wolf Ep 1
I said above that I’ve never read or watched Spice and Wolf before but I ended up watching some of the story because of VSA’s posts, but correct me if I’m wrong.
This is Holo, the protagonist, right? So she’s telling her story, which at this point has already happened, and she’s telling it to her daughter?
If I’m not mistaken, she has a daughter with gray hair, who is that girl, right?
It’s a well-made festival, like, I think when authors create cities with festivals or something like that, it’s always a simple party but then there was a whole cool thing, like the game of catching the wolf, etc.
OH MY GOD, A WAIFU!
I like his reaction, he’s genuinely scared of her.
I expected to see her wolf form… but he was really scared, huh! Is it that scary? Enough got even darker.
Hmm… so no one believes in the real Holo, even though she exists, I think that at a certain point many years ago she was supposed to interact with humans but she stopped and then it just became the habit.
Okay so she actually has the power to move through the wheat, so he can take a wheat anywhere and she can go with it.
We got a fox waifu and we’re taking her north!
She is very cute, there is no way to say no!
Final Thoughts Commenting on Spice and Wolf Ep 1
Okay, my first experience watching Spice and Wolf and I… thought it was normal? So, it wasn’t a big deal and nothing surprising, it was quite common and honestly, if this anime didn’t have a certain fame I would have dropped it now.
I know that a lot of people like this anime and love the series and so on and that’s the only reason I’m giving it this chance, but about the episode itself, I loved Holo’s voice, the voice actress is really cute, and she’s also cool, I like how she calls him “macho”, I really liked her.
I also liked the protagonist, Lawrence, right? I found his reactions towards the waifu much more “natural” and more interesting than many anime protagonists out there.
As I mentioned in the middle of the post, I liked how the author came up with this festival, which was much more creative than what you see out there. Let’s wait now for the next episodes
