Crunchyroll Started Paying Subscribers $31 For Disclosing Personal Information To Third Parties Crunchyroll Hime Otakupt

In October 2023 we reported that a court in the USA ruled that certain subscribers to Crunchyroll could be entitled to payment as compensation for the streaming service disclosing subscribers’ personal information to third parties without their consent.

This decision is the result of a collective action against the Crunchyroll and according to fans, the anime streaming service has already started paying. Those who were part of the case began to reveal that they received $31.24.

After starting the process, the Crunchyroll denied the allegations but decided to agree to a settlement anyway. The service did this to avoid greater expenses that could arise from combating collective action. As such, the Crunchyroll subscribers who paid for the service between September 8, 2020 and September 20, 2023 are entitled to compensation.
