DLSite changes Tag name after pressure from Card Operators

Credit card companies like Visa and MasterCard are waging war against certain types of media, and if a site sells such media they demand that the sites in question stop selling it.

To explain an example, DLSite is a website where you can buy doujins, so let’s say an author creates an R18 loli doujin and sends it to DLSite to sell, on DLSite there is the option to purchase this doujin using credit cards such as Visa and Master Card.

However, the operators see the “adult lolis doujin” content and give DLSite an ultimatum, saying that they will stop supporting it if the site does not start banning this content. Some sites even do this, banning all pornography, but there are those that simply say goodbye to Visa and Master Card and provide purchasing options that have no problem with such content.

DLSite, under pressure from credit card companies, did not ban the content (yet), but it decided to change the terms of the categories that Visa and Master Card see as problematic.

See just a few examples of what the words looked like and what they were replaced with.

Did you want to see Mesugaki doujins? Now you will have to search for “zaaako”. “Rape/rape” will have to be typed as “Without Consent”. “Loli” became “Hiyoko”. “Mind control” became “Trance/Suggestion”.

“Chikan” which is that category of doujins and films where women are touched without permission on trains and buses, and now it has become “Secret Touching”. “Bestiality”, which is familiar with animals, became “Animal friendly” and finally “slave” became “servant”.

As mentioned above, these are just a few examples, the list of tag modifications is much longer. The good thing that many are commenting on is that DLSite did not ban these types of content, which they consider good, but them changing the terms is a defeat for freedom of expression.
