The idol group Mugan Startrail, in an effort to expand its fan base, organizes several events to promote interaction between the members and their fans. One of these events, held on August 3, was a barbecue that promised to bring the idols and the public even closer together. However, not everything went according to plan.
One of the members, Anna Ikeda, 25, did not attend the event, officially due to “health issues”. However, the real reason was much more worrying. Anna received a direct message (DM) on Twitter with threatening content, which led her to leave the barbecue for safety reasons.
Fan Threatens to Get Drunk and Take Advantage of Idol at Event
Idol groups in Japan often seek creative ways to strengthen the relationship between fans and artists, such as the barbecue event held by Mugan Startrail. However, the event on August 3 was marked by the absence of Anna Ikeda, who was notified by the group’s staff on the same day, but the other three members of the group attended the barbecue.
The reason given by the group in its statement regarding Anna Ikeda’s absence was “health problems.”
It turns out that this isn’t the real reason why Ikeda missed the barbecue, you see, the Twitter DMs of the idols of the group Mugan Startrail are open and as long as you are verified anyone can send them a DM.
And behold, the Anna Ikeda revealed that she received a message from a person saying that they would get her drunk enough so he could take advantage of her at the barbecue.
Obviously fearing the worst and out of fear she was unable to attend the barbecue, as I mentioned the other 3 members went and apparently nothing unusual happened. It is worth mentioning that Anna Ikeda is precisely the member with the most followers of the group on Twitter so perhaps she is the most popular girl.
It’s always good to be careful with crazy people, but the question remains, why are the girls’ DMs open for anyone to send whatever they want? Some fans have wondered about this
