Toriyama said that some of the new story missions that will be included in the new game will allow players to delve deeper into the stories of characters from Final Fantasy VII. These scenarios will explore elements and settings that have never been explored in previous games. An example is an episode where Tifa meets the members of AVALANCHE for the first time. This is one of many scenarios planned to be released in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. In this, players will be able to witness the pain that the character felt for the loss of Avalanche members, but from a different perspective.
This new scenario is based on the light novel Final Fantasy VII Remake: Trace of Two Pastswritten by Kazushige Nojimathe screenwriter of Final Fantasy VII. Although the story of Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is based on the 1997 game, Toriyama mentioned that the game was also designed to explore more elements present in both the current game and the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade as in the future Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
