O official site of adaptation anime from the light novel series The New Gate by Shinogi Kazanami, released the first promotional video. The video reveals that the premiere will be in April 2024in addition, new additions to the cast are presented.
New cast introduced:
The animation is by Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts, directed by Tamaki Nakatsu (film Eyeshield 21: The Phantom Golden Bowl), script by Hiroki Uchida (Gamers!, The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest) and character design by Itsuki Takemoto (animation director of Kan Colle, Naruto Shippuden). In addition, we will have Tatsuhiko Saiki, Yūya Mori, Misaki Tsuchida and Tsugumi Tanaka composing the music.

The author began publishing the original story of the novel on the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2013. Then, the AlphaPolis began publishing the story in physical book volumes in December 2013, with art by Makai no Jūnin. In August 2016, Shinogi Kazanami removed the story from the website Shōsetsuka ni Narōand the AlphaPolis he started making the story available on his website. The 21st volume of the novel was published in September 2022.
Synopsis of The New Gate
THE NEW GATE online game was crowded with many players, but the virtual space suddenly transformed, trapping and tormenting people in the game world. To break this situation, a young man stood up – Shin, the strongest player in the game. Blocking his path was this world’s greatest enemy, Origin. “He finished…!” At the end of a fight to the death, Shin’s killing blow pierced Origin’s body. The announcement confirmed the game’s completion and the release of trapped players. As people began to leave, Shin also said goodbye to the familiar world. However, at that moment, a new door suddenly opened before him ― What unfolded before Shin, shrouded in light, was… the world of THE NEW GATE, 500 years after finishing the game!
