Hokage is the person with the highest position in Konoha village. The owner of this title is the strongest ninja who is trusted to lead the village. Hokage itself has the meaning of Shadow of Fire.
To date, Hokage has accompanied the long history of Konoha village. There are already seven Hokage official and one Hokage while until the Boruto era. Each of them has different strengths and personalities, but they have one thing in common Hi no Ishi or Konoha’s Will of Fire.
Not only their strength, their names are also special. Kishimoto and his editors did not create any names Hokage just like that, they have meaning and relate to their own role as Hokage as well as as a character in Animanga Naruto. The following is the meaning of the name para Hokage.
1. Hashirama Senju
Hashirama Senju is a ninja from the Senju clan, one of the oldest and strongest clans in ninja history. He was even nicknamed “God Shinobi.”
Hashirama is Hokage First. He was the one who built Konoha with his childhood friend and rival, Madara Uchiha.
His name is Hashirama (柱間), which means “Distance between pillars”, and his name if shortened again is Hashira (柱) which means “pillar” or strengthening post. This shows that Hashirama is Hokage which has been a pillar or reinforcing pillar for the security, comfort and support of Konoha village all this time.
His family name, Senju (千手) means “Thousand Hands”, just like one of Hashirama’s strongest moves, namely Senpou Mokuton Shinsuusenju where Hashirama brings out a giant wooden statue with thousands of arms that he can control.
2. Tobirama Senju
Tobirama Senju is Hashirama’s younger brother. Like his older brother, he is also one of the strongest ninja in Konoha. He built Konoha together with his older brother, his clan and the Uchiha clan.
The meaning of the name is Tobirama (扉間) which means “Distance between doors”, if shortened to Tobira (扉) which means “Door”. If you look at his contribution to Konoha village, he is Hokage which ‘opened the door’ for Konoha’s development. He provided many innovations such as the Ninja Academy system, Anbu Organization, and Exams Chunin. He also developed several ninja moves that were still used until that era Borutosuch as thousand shadow moves and even techniques Edo Tensei.
3. Hiruzen Sarutobi
Hiruzen Sarutobi is Hokage Third, the successor of Hokage Second, Tobirama Senju. Hiruzen was Hokage who served in the small Naruto era.
Hiruzen himself is a genius ninja, he is even nicknamed Professor because of his genius. His name Hiruzen (ヒルゼン) is probably taken from the name of the mountain that has Hana Hiruzensanza on the island of Honsu, Japan. Meanwhile, his family name is Sarutobi (猿飛) which means “Monkey Leaping”.
The ape that Hiruzen was related to was certainly a creature Kuchiyose what he has is Enma, the monkey king. Saru (サル) which means monkey is also the nickname given by Tobirama to Hiruzen.
4. Minato Namikaze
Minato Namikaze is Hokage Fourth and also the father of Hokage Seventh, Naruto Uzumaki.
Unlike Hokage other officials, Minato did not serve as too long Hokageyou could even say he ended up dying young in order to protect Konoha from the Nine Tails’ attack.
Namikaze (波風) in the fourth Hokage’s name means “wave and wind.” This can be addressed with expertise, namely Hiraishin no Jutsu a very powerful technique where Minato can teleport and move quickly.
Minato (港) itself means “port” or a place to anchor. If we compare it to his jutsu, then the “port” is his main weapon, Kunai Hiraishin which he had tagged with jutsu. Kunai This is a place for Minato to dock from one place to another.
5. Tsunade
Of all the ones on this list, Tsunade is the only one Hokage women at once Hokage the oldest who was still alive until the Boruto era. Because of her longevity, even just Tsunade Hokage who has seen the inauguration of two Hokage next after he finishes office.
Unlike Hokage Another thing, maybe the meaning of the name Tsunade has no special meaning. Tsunade (綱手) can be translated as “Top rope”. But again the name is not an arbitrary name.
Tsunade’s name is taken from a character in a Japanese folk tale entitled Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari (The Adventures of Jiraiya the Brave). The story tells about a ninja named Jiraiya who could turn into a frog. Tsunade herself is Jiraiya’s wife in the story, a beautiful woman who can turn into a large snail. Of course the Trio Sannin legends are taken from this story, especially the names and elements of the animals they have.
6. Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake is Hokage Sixth, students from Hokage Fourth, Minato Namikaze, and teacher of Hokage Seventh, Naruto Uzumaki. He is a famous ninja because Sharinganwho has imitated a thousand other ninja moves.
Maybe of all Hokage, the name is the most different. Kakashi (案山子) means “scarecrow”, and his family name, Hatake (畑) means “field”, which could mean that Kakashi Hatake is a scarecrow in a field or rice field.
Kishimoto really wanted to name this teacher character with gardening equipment. Some names he had thought about besides Kakashi were kuwa (hoe), kama (sickle), or enoki (nettle tree). But the choice fell to Kakashi and Kishimoto was quite satisfied with this name.
The scarecrow element in Kakashi’s character is when little Naruto practices using a scarecrow wearing Kakashi-style clothes.
7. Naruto Uzumaki
If we discuss the meaning of the name para Hokageclear Hokage The seventh cannot be forgotten either.
Maybe what many people already know is the meaning of the name Hokage Seventh aka Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto, taken from naruto (ナルト), which is a topping on ramen noodles. Naruto’s shape is like a flower with a spiral or swirl motif in the middle.
Uzumaki (うずまき) itself means spiral or vortex, the same symbol as in Naruto or the vortex under Naruto’s jacket. Naruto’s love of ramen and Rasengan is enough to describe these two relationships.
The name Naruto Uzumaki also seems to be taken from Naruto no Uzushiowhich is a tidal whirlpool located close to the Naruto Bridge in Tokushima, Japan.
8. Hokage temporary: Danzo Shimura
Previously you have read the meaning of the name para Hokage main. But don’t forget also a controversial figure who once served as Hokage while, namely Danzo Shimura.
Danzo is a candidate Hokage Sixth. Tsunade, who was unconscious because she had protected Konoha, was the cause. Unfortunately Danzo has not had time to be appointed Hokage officially because he committed suicide during the fight against Sasuke.
Danzo was probably taken by Masashi Kishimoto from Kato Danzo, a great ninja from the Sengoku era in Japan. Meanwhile, Shimura (志村) is probably taken from two words, namely “Will to do” (志) and also “village” (村), which more or less means “I will do anything for the sake of the village.”
It was a fitting name because, putting aside Danzo’s actions, he did everything for Konoha.
That is the meaning of the name para Hokage. So, maybe you can find another meaning that is suitable and related to para Hokage?
9. Hokage after Naruto who was not yet sure about accepting his position: Shikamaru Nara
After Naruto Uzumaki was sealed by Kawaki into another dimension (and thought dead by the world), Hokage His replacement was Shikamaru Nara.
But it is revealed in chapter 6 Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Shikamaru actually hasn’t received a formal title yet Hokage Eighth.
Shikamaru asked for three years, and even though that time had passed, he still seemed reluctant to accept the position.
As for the meaning of names, almost all the meanings of the name “Shikamaru Nara” are “deer”.
In Japanese, “Shika” can mean “deer”, besides that “Shikamaru” can also mean “like a deer”.
Nara itself is also based on the Nara park which is also filled with deer.
