1. It wasn’t Seiya at first!
When created for the series, the creator Masami Kurumada originally wanted the main character’s name to be Ginga no Rin which means Galaxy Rin. However, as the manga was further developed, Masami changed his mind and changed the character’s name to Seiya!
2. Seiya’s Inspiration!
Masami created the character Seiya himself based on his boxing manga character published in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1977. Ring is Kakero which is one of the best-selling Shonen Jump manga of all time. Well, the character who inspired it is the main character, Ryuji Takane!
3. Voice actor
There are two voice actors for Seiya, depending on which series you watch. One is Tohru Furuya, the voice actor for Amuro Ray from the series. Mobile Suit Gundamand Masakazu Morita, the voice actor of Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach!
4. Has another name abroad!
Seiya himself has another name in the foreign release version. While in Italy he is simply referred to as Pegasus, in the French version this character is named Seiyar, for reasons that have not been officially revealed to this day!
5. Represents the constellation Pegasus!
As a person saintSeiya represents the constellation Pegasus in the northern constellation. His name is taken from the mythical horse Pegasus that is present in Greek mythology!
6. Become a Gold Saint in Omega!
In the series spin off Saint Seiya Omega, Seiya rose in rank to become a Gold Saint and received the Sagittarius armor. The Pegasus armor user who continues its legend is Kouga!
7. Have an old incarnation!
In lore prequel series Saint Seiya, Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas, Seiya has an incarnation of his predecessor, the Pegasus costume user, named Tenma! Tenma is also the main character The Lost Canvaswhich takes place in the 18th century!
