In Japanese forums, yet another controversy arose around the miHoYo and yours Honkai Impact 3rd with accusations of lack of originality or even plagiarism from animes such as Sousou at Frieren, Mushoku Tensei It is Black Clover.
The controversy arises with one of the most recent promotional videos of Honkai Impact 3rd which according to the Japanese presents copies of anime sequences.
You can see the promotional video in question above and a comparative video below showing the sequences in question that are accused of plagiarism. We have a copy of the opening of Sousou at Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End), the opening of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and the opening of Black Clover.
On the forums we can read:
- I think it’s fashionable to copy some opening and ending sequences, perhaps because they think no one will notice. Don’t they know that these sequels have their own director and crew and are considered “another anime”?
- These guys are always copying the Japanese.
- It’s not plagiarism, it’s a tribute, say those who support this type of action.
- I’m a player of this video game, but don’t think that I trust the development company too much.
- They almost went unnoticed, but Black Clover’s copying was too obvious, someone would have to notice sooner or later.
- I assume the sequels were made by the same team that made the other sequels, right? If not, I don’t understand how they were approved.
- I’m glad this kind of thing is finally getting noticed on the Internet.
- It seems like there is no copyright in China, I guess that’s why they don’t mind copying everyone.
- Even if a large company decides to use something as a ‘reference’, they should always be grateful for the loan of material already produced.
- Before Genshin Impact’s release, people were already calling it a vile copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Do Chinese producers only know how to copy ideas?
- This company is always copying ideas or worse, stealing directly.
