Combining action and food, the anime series adaptation of the manga Meshi Dungeon (Delicious in Dungeon) by Ryoko Kui premiered in January 2024.
With animation by the studio Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) we learn that the direction is by Yoshihiro Miyajima (SSSS.Dynazenon, episode direction by SSSS.Gridman), the argument is Kimiko Ueno (The Royal Tutor, Chimimo, Eternal Boys), the character design is by Naoki Takeda (animation direction by BNA: Brand New Animal) and the music is the responsibility of Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenoblade Chronicles, Black Butler: Book of Circus).
When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked by a dragon in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and supplies… and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there’s just one problem: if they leave without food or money, they’re sure they’ll starve to death along the way! But Laios has a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slugs, snakes and even dragons… none are safe from the appetites of these gluttons!
