Have you ever imagined if being hit by a truck was suddenly the best thing that ever happened to you? Well, in Mushoku Tensei, this is what takes you on a good isekai adventure.
This story started to hit in 2012 as a light novel, created by Rifujin na Magonote. Before that, it was a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, a website where people post their own stories. The plot revolves around a 34-year-old guy, unemployed and with no direction in life, who, after a less-than-friendly encounter with a truck, ends up being reborn in a world full of magic as Rudeus Greyrat. It’s like a restart in life, with diapers and puberty again, only now with a magical touch and less fear of living.
As for the anime, it has been winning over fans for being super faithful to the books. Two seasons have already been released and it’s obvious that the creators want to keep everything very close to the original. There is also a manga, for those who enjoy a different format. But for those who are more into watching, the anime delves deep into the story of the book.
And speaking of which, how many emotions does this saga have, huh? The Mushoku Tensei series was released by MF Books and already has a lot of volumes, 26 to be exact, with the last one closing the bill. The books closely follow what happened in the web novel, but with some extras and some polishing of the story.
