Fans of the popular isekai novel How to Enjoy a Loner Life in Another World (Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku) by Shouji Goji and illustrated by Booota will be delighted to hear that an anime series based on the novel is in the works. The anime is expected to premiere in 2024, and you can watch the promotional video bellow.
The anime will feature Shūichirō Umeda as the voice of Haruka, the main character.
Shouji Goji, the author of the novel, shared his excitement and surprise about the anime adaptation:
I never planned to write a novel or even thought about it, but one night I impulsively posted a story on “Narou” (a website for amateur writers). To my astonishment, it became a book, then a manga, and now an anime.
Yes, it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing, and I wrote it as a joke, but the story gradually grew. I was torn between being ecstatic or completely shocked. Before I knew it, it was being adapted into an anime. I’m not blaming anyone for this, it’s all my fault.
Saku Enomaru, the editor of the novel, also expressed his enthusiasm:

As for Haruka’s first impression, his way of speaking and storytelling is unique, pleasant, and somehow feels fresh and nostalgic. He probably doesn’t intend it, but once you meet him once, you won’t forget this quirky and charming protagonist.

How to Enjoy a Loner Life in Another World (Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku) started as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in October 2016 and was later published by OVERLAP as a light novel in January 2019. A manga adaptation by Bibi began serialization on Comic Gardo in January 2019, and its 18th volume will be released on January 25th.
