In its most recent tax report, Kadokawa revealed that it intends to create more anime studios fully managed by the company.
A Kadokawa owns a majority stake in the studios ENGI (Gamera -Rebirth-, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) and Kinema Citrus (My Happy Marriage, The Rising of The Shield Hero). In June 2021 he created the Studio Kadan (Gamera -Rebirth-) of which it holds 97.5%. However, the Kadokawa reveals that he intends to establish 100% owned anime studios.
The studio’s plans Kadokawa are part of its medium-term management strategy to strengthen its animation production capabilities over the next four fiscal years. In addition to establishing new studios, the company intends to reinforce existing anime studios, acquire other studios and form alliances with other companies.
A Kadokawa invest in 40 or more anime titles per year, but only produces about five internally. The goal is to eventually increase the number of titles produced internally to 20 per year and also increase the number of seasons and episodes per anime.
