The first certified store LEGO in Portugal, located in Centro Colombo, celebrates its first anniversary in World Play Day. In the store where more than 36 thousand minifigures have already been released, the brand will create challenges for families and blow out their first candle on the day October 12th.
The adventure of the first LEGO Certified Store to open in Portugal began a year ago, in partnership with Percassi. O Colombo Center was the stage chosen and the reception from the Portuguese exceeded the best expectations, and, five minutes after opening, there were already empty shelves and a queue to enter the store. A year later, and the store continues to delight visitors with the toys that have captivated kids and adults for over 90 years.
The Lisbon store was one of the first in Europe to have a Minifigure Factory — a machine that allows personalized printing of minifigure torsos —, in addition to also having murals, giant sculptures, play tables, the Pick a Brick Wall — a wall where you can buy individual pieces — and the Build a Minifigure (BAM) space , which allows the composition of exclusive minifigures with n possible combinations between accessories, hair, legs, torsos and heads.
Adding up the minifigures that left the “factory” and BAM, the Portuguese have already customized 36,199 minifigures, more than the resident population of municipalities such as Beja, Lagos or Bragança.
At Pick a Brick Wallwhere fans can choose individual pieces, paying the value of the cup, 5116 cups of pieces have already been sold, the equivalent of 105 kg, with the pieces on the wall being frequently updated, so that it remains attractive.
On Thursday, October 12th, the LEGO Group hosts its second World Play Day — a day dedicated to praising the benefits and joy that playing brings — and, to encourage families to find a moment to play, the store’s birthday party will take place on this date.
Das 6:30 pm to 8:30 pmthe store is very happy to welcome families who want to participate in its birthday-related construction challenges, because playing is a superpower that the brand wants to celebrate.
