Jez Cordenthe editor-in-chief of Windows Central, revealed that according to his sources the next game Mass Effect it could be a return to its origins and abandon the open world concept.
In conversation at The Xbox Two Podcast he stated:
I heard that Mass Effect is abandoning the open world and returning to the classic format… I don’t know if this is 100% accurate, but it’s an industry rumor.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda The BioWare offered players some open world elements, but players didn’t really like its implementation and according to these rumors the next Mass Effect can return to its origins with a greater focus on narrative elements and a more linear experience.
