With animation by Bandai Namco Filmworks the direction is Mitsuo Fukuda (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed) who also wrote the story together with his late wife Chiaki Morosawa It is Liu Goto. The character design is Hisashi Hirai (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed).

The director of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Mitsuo Fukudapreviously confirmed that Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM is a continuation of the second anime series of Gundam Seed, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny.
The film is part of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Projectan initiative that was announced in 2021 and that celebrates the anime’s 20th anniversary Mobile Suit Gundam Seed original in 2022 with several parts. The initiative also includes a new M gameobile Suit Gundam Seed and the parallel manga Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Eclipse.
The anime series Mobile Suit Gundam Seed debuted in 2002, followed by Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny in 2004. In 2006 it debuted Mobile Suit Gundam Seed CE73: Stargazer.
Chiaki Morosawathe main screenwriter of the two series Gundam Seedpassed away at age 56 in 2016. She collaborated with her husband, who directed both series of Gundam Seedin planning the film Gundam Seed. Morosawa had explained in 2008 that the project’s story was completed, but that she had been ill since the end of the sequel Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny in 2005.
