New Sgt. Frog anime announced

A Bandai Namco Pictures announced a new anime based on the manga Sgt Frog (Keroro Gunsō) by Mine Yoshizaki. The project thus celebrates the 20th anniversary of the anime whose first episode premiered on April 3, 2004.

You can see the announcement trailer above and a promotional image below. The manga Sgt Frog by Mine Yoshizaki has been released in KADOKAWA’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine since 1999.

In the anime description we can read:

Keroro is Sergeant Frog – the leader of a platoon of warriors sent to conquer planet Earth. But when the amphibious invaders discovered how much humans enjoy dissecting their comrades, the troops were disbanded, the mission was aborted, and Keroro was abandoned. Now this once-proud soldier spends more time working with a vacuum cleaner than with weapons of war. He’s a long way from the glory of battle, but hey, at least he has his own room. And although the invasion may have slowed down, Sergeant Frog still occasionally yearns to overcome his karaoke addiction and rally his troops.
