During the event IGN FanfestThe Crunchyroll released a video of the 2nd season of the adaptation for anime series from manhwa Tower of God (Lee Jong-hui) from SUI, which will debut on the platform in July 2024. O video talks about the animation and shows a preview of the look of the new season.
The first season was animated by Telecom Animation Film (Lupin III: Part IV, Orange), directed by Takashi Sano (Sengoku Basara: End of Judgment, Transformers: Energon), script by Erika Yoshida (Trickster, Namu Amida Butsu! -Rendai Utena-) and character design by Masashi Kudo (Bleach, Hayate the Combat Butler!) and Miho Tanino.
In the voice cast (seiyuu’s), we have:
- Taichi Ichikawa as Bam
- Saori Hayami as Rachel
- Houchu Ohtsuka as Headon
Lee Jong-hui released Tower of God in Korean NAVER WEBTOON in 2010 and has been available in Japan on LINE since 2018. The manhwa has been translated into 28 languages and has more than 4.5 billion views worldwide.
Synopsis of Tower of God (Lee Jong-hui)
Baam is a boy who spends most of his life trapped under a tower, with young Rachel as his only company. One day Rachel decides that she can no longer be stuck in this same old life, she has always wanted to reach the stars, see them up close and to do that she needs to enter the tower and leave Baam behind.
When Rachel enters the tower and leaves Baam behind, Baam is unhappy and goes after her, but doesn’t find her. The tower doorman, a strange creature with a Machiavellian smile, tells Baam that Rachel has already gone up. He embarks on a journey.
