In this Aniplex Online Fest 2023 This trailer for the anime film adaptation of the manga was shown The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store (Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san) by Tsuchika Nishimura where we can hear the theme “Gift” by Myuk. The Concierge will premiere on October 20, 2023.
Animation is the responsibility of the studio Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East), directed by Yoshimi Itazu (“Pigtails,” Welcome to the Ballroom, key animation by Popin Q) with the story being the responsibility of Satomi Ooshima (Hataraki Man, Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, Raven of the Inner Palace). The distribution is Aniplex.

The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store (Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san) began publication in Big Comic Zōkan in November 2016 and ended in 2020 with 2 volumes. The manga won the Excellence Award at the 25th edition of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs’ Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2022.
The manga revolves around a new concierge in a mysterious store where all the customers are animals. As a concierge, she tries to read her quirky customers and tries to make appropriate recommendations.
