A Nintendo announced tonight that its official event Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo, scheduled for January 20th and 21st, 2024 at Tokyo Big Sight, was canceled due to aggressive threats against staff and participants. This cancellation had a ripple effect that included the postponement of the national and world championships in Splatoon 3 It is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
O Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo was created to showcase the latest games from Nintendo in the country of origin, as well as holding the events of the world championship of Splatoon 3 It is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and also perform concerts of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom It is Splatoon.
In the communication to Nintendo states that they feel they will not be able to guarantee the safety of spectators and have therefore canceled the live event and postponed the tournaments. The National Finals of Splatoon Koshien 2023 were scheduled to take place next weekend, on the 16th and 17th of December.
A Nintendo It also reveals that more details will be revealed later on when the tournaments will take place.
