One Piece: The Giants of Elbaf Can Finally Reveal Joy Boy’s Past

So, since the end of the fight in Onigashima in the Wano Country Arc, Eiichiro Oda has been slowly spilling the beans about Joy Boy, a legendary guy from the Century of the Void, who has his hand in almost everything in the One Piece universe.

This Joy Boy has to do with a lot of things, like the Old Kingdom, the Poneglyphs, that D.’s Will, and a lot of people with the initial “D.” in the name.

Until now, we know little about who Joy Boy is, what he is like, what he believes in, and what his goal was. But, hey, the guy had a huge impact on the world, having connections with places like Wano Country, Zou, Fish-Man Island, Skypiea and the Buccaneers.

After Luffy showed Gear 5 and the truth about Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika came to light, Joy Boy became even more in the spotlight, especially in the Egghead Arc. Now that the Straw Hats may be heading to Elbaf, the land of giants, it looks like we’re going to find out more about Joy Boy’s story.

So, what’s going on in Elbaf? If Luffy and Vegapunk manage to get away from Egghead Island without being caught by the Marines, Admiral Kizaru and Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, they will probably be hunted by the World Government.

The Egghead Arc has already hinted that the end of this story will shake the structures, and could even weaken the authority of the sailors.

If the Straw Hats go to Elbaf, which is probably not allied with the World Government, they might find a safe place for a while. But the sailors and the Five Elders won’t let it go, especially if they can save Vegapunk. Luffy and his gang may have a lot of issues to resolve in Elbaf, and time may be short.

Furthermore, Elbaf now has the documents left over from the Ohara Library, which the World Government guys destroyed. If Nico Robin can work with Vegapunk to understand this information, it could change everything on their journey to Laugh Tale.

Not to mention the expected reunions, like Luffy with Shanks, and Robin with Jaguar D. Saul. These encounters could have a huge impact on the Straw Hats’ fight against the World Government.

And the connection between the giants and Joy Boy, huh? Oda didn’t say openly whether Joy Boy was a giant or not, but there are some hints in the story that suggest that. Like that giant straw hat in Mary Geoise.

And since Luffy was called the second coming of Joy Boy, perhaps the original Joy Boy was a user of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, or even the Sun God Nika himself. And the size of the hat indicates that only a Lunarian, a Buccaneer, or a giant could wear it.

Recent stories about Bartholomew Kuma also show that the Buccaneers had a special bond with Nika. And the fact that Saint Jaygarcia Saturn says that the Buccaneers committed a serious crime against the World Government makes us think that Joy Boy could be one of them or an ally.

Will Elbaf spill the beans about the Void Century? As giants live much longer than other races in One Piece, they may have information passed down from generation to generation about the Void Century. This means they might know something about Joy Boy. They might not remember everything, but with the help of Ohara’s texts, Vegapunk and Robin can piece together the puzzle.

Shanks’ presence in Elbaf can also help us better understand the Century of the Void, as he knows what Gol D. Roger discovered on his legendary journey. And this is all happening right when the Final Saga is heating up, with the fight against the World Government and the race to reach Laugh Tale. It’s promising!
