The official website for the original anime series Pon no Michi (The Way of Pon) posted this trailer online highlighting the character Father Kawahigashi.
Scheduled to premiere in January 2024, the animation is from the studio OLM (Pokémon, Summer Time Rendering, ODD TAXI, Komi can’t communicate), the direction and story are by Tatsuma Minamikawa (Fire Force, Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry) and the character design is by Kenji Ōta (key animation, Pokémon XY) based on the drawings of Negi Haruba (The Quintessential Quintuplets).

Synopsis of Pon no Michi
The anime takes place in the city of Onomichi, in Hiroshima Prefecture, where a high school student Nashiko Jippensha was expelled from her home. Without a place to play with her friends, she discovers that the mahjong room her father ran is empty. She fixes up the mahjong room and turns it into a place where she and her friends can have fun, cook, drink tea and sometimes play mahjong.
