During the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024, Bong Joon Hothe Korean director of the Oscar-winning film Parasiterevealed that he is planning an anime project.
Before presenting the Best Director Award to Shōta Goshozono (Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen), the South Korean filmmaker revealed that he spent the entire day before the ceremony in his hotel room drawing storyboards for the project. He did not specify which Japanese studio he is planning the project with.
Bong Joon Ho is also working in South Korea on an animated project that will be distributed internationally by Sony Pictures. It was unclear whether these are two different projects or the same one.
