A Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that access to game streaming PlayStation 5 will be available on October 23rd in Europe for subscribers of the PlayStation Plus Premium. This access will automatically be added to the players’ subscription.
PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will have access to cloud game streaming for compatible PlayStation Plus digital titles – from the PlayStation Plus game catalog and game reviews, as well as compatible titles from the PlayStation 5 game library they own .
There will be select PlayStation 5 titles available to stream and download, and the SIE is planning to have hundreds of PlayStation 5 titles to support this new benefit.
Below are some examples:
- The biggest PlayStation 5 hits from the PlayStation Plus game catalog, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon: Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Mortal Kombat 11 and Saints Row IV;
- Game reviews of PlayStation 5 titles such as Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Calisto Protocol;
- Digital titles for PlayStation 5 that PlayStation Plus Premium members own and can be played via streaming, such as Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys and Fortnite;
Cloud streaming for PlayStation 5 will only be available on the PS5 console at launch. Players will be able to access PS5 game streaming without needing to download the game with their PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. In addition to this, PlayStation Plus Premium members will also have other features available with this new PlayStation 5 streaming perk. This includes:
- Downloadable content and in-game purchases will be available for streaming play on PS5, including DLCs and add-ons, just like downloadable game purchases;
- High-quality resolution options including 4K, 1440p, 1080p and 720p, with 60 FPS and SDR or HDR output;
- Improved sound with support for all PlayStation 5 audio features, such as 5.1 and 7.1, as well as Tempest 3D audio technology;
- Option to take screenshots and record up to 3 minutes of video, which will be transferred to the media gallery on PS5 and will also be available in the PS App media gallery.
