Nick Bakera well-known insider revealed that the original God of War trilogy will be remastered and the release could happen as early as 2024.
The games in question are God of War which was released in 2005 for Playstation 2, God of War II which was released in 2007 for Playstation 2 and God of War III which was released in 2010 for Playstation 3. Nick Baker stated:
I’m someone who has long lamented the direction God of War has taken and longed for the OG God of War hack n’ slash games. I just love them so much. And when I heard this could be happening, I told a friend of mine who also loves the original God of War games and he was very excited. And I heard we might be getting the remaster of the OG God of War trilogy on PlayStation.
Now, I’m not 100 percent sure if it will be announced in 2024 and released in 2024 or released in 2025… that part I’m not sure about, but what I’ve heard is the remaster of the OG God of War trilogy.
When asked if this collection will include God of War: AscensionBaker isn’t sure, but says it was described as the original trilogy, which seems to exclude God of War: Ascension.

The other thing I’m not sure about and want to get details on is: is this a direct port of what we got on PS3? In this case, I’m a little less excited. Or is this something more involved, more in the realm of the remake?
