Season 2 of the new Samurai X anime series in October 2024

A FujiTV announced that the second season of the new anime series adaptation of the manga Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) by Nobuhiro Watsuki It is Kaoru Kurosaki will premiere in October 2024 (Fall anime season).

This second season will last two courses that will be broadcast continuously, meaning the broadcast will take place over 6 months. The first season premiered in July 2023.

The animation is from the studio Liden Films (The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Terra Formars, Hanebado!), directed by Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood, Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka, Cells at Work! Code Black), the argument is Hideyuki Kurata and the character design is Terumi Nishii (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable, Saint Seiya: Kinights of the Zodiac).

The manga of Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin) was originally published in Shonen Jump magazine between 1994 and 1999, with 28 compiled volumes. Nobuhiro Watsuki and his wife Kaoru Kurosaki started publishing the manga Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc (Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Hokkaido-hen) in September 2017.

The series received an anime adaptation in 1996 and had 95 episodes. Three OVA series of the work were also produced, released in 1999, 2001 and 2011, in addition to the series of live-action films released between 2012 and 2021.
