It was announced that Seishun Buta Yarou’s light novel ends this year, the last two volumes, 14 and 15 will be released in 2024 and will end the story of Sakuta and Mai.
Firstly, the 14th volume called Seishun Buta Yarou wa Girlfriend no Yume wo Minai will be released on August 9th, and the 15th and final volume called Seishun Buta Yarou wa Der Friend no Yume wo Minai will be released on October 10th.
Each of the two volumes will have a special edition that will come with a drama CD. The light novel began publication in April 2014, when the first volume Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl-Senpai no Yume wo Minai was released.
The series then received an anime adaptation in 2018 with 13 episodes, in 2019 the first film in the series was released, adapting volumes 6 and 7 of the light novel. Years later two new films were announced.
The first film premiered in Japan in June 2023 and adapted volume 8 of the light novel, the second film premiered in December and adapted volume 9 of the light novel.
It was also announced that Seishun Buta Yarou will get a new anime adaptation adapting the university arc, so it is almost certain that the anime will adapt the entire light novel.
