Synopsis
Known as the Bibliophile Princess for her unquenchable love of books, Lady Eliana Bernstein wants nothing more than to shirk social duties in favor of retreating to the library. So, when the handsome Crown Prince Christopher promises to shield her from high-society drudgery in exchange for pretending to be his fiancée, she jumps at the chance to hide behind their sham relationship and read to her heart’s content (especially since he’s offered her access to the palace library). But much like the plot of her favorite novel, soon Eli’s feelings for the prince develop in unexpected ways, and she realizes she can’t always judge a royal book by its cover.

Editor's Review
“Bibliophile Princess” is an anime that beautifully captures the essence of love for literature and the journey of self-discovery. The story revolves around Elianna Bernstein, a noblewoman known as the Bibliophile Princess, who is engaged to the crown prince, Christopher Selkirk Asherald.
Elianna is a relatable and inspiring character. Despite being a bookworm, her determination to succeed and her passion for reading make her a compelling character. Her interactions with Christopher add depth to her character and contribute to the overall narrative.
The animation style of “Bibliophile Princess” is average but does not detract from the enjoyment of the show. The series takes a “slow life” approach with relatively low stakes and a cutesy presentation in both tone and art style. This makes it a relaxing watch that doesn’t demand too much from its viewers.
One of the standout features of this anime is its educational aspect. The series does an excellent job of introducing viewers to the world of literature. It provides an insight into the prestigious world of nobility and the process of becoming an independent woman.
However, some viewers might find the series rather dull as most of the episodes focus on Elianna’s past and her interactions with Christopher. The story lacks significant conflict or tension, which might not appeal to viewers looking for more action-packed or dramatic narratives.
In conclusion, “Bibliophile Princess” is an anime that offers a unique perspective on love for literature, determination, and friendship. It’s a story about overcoming personal challenges, forming friendships, and finding one’s place in the world. Despite its shortcomings, it’s a must-watch for any anime fan interested in slice-of-life shows with an educational twist.
