Synopsis

It's been seven years since Nonoka Komiya last lived in Lake Kiriya City. However, while she knew that there would be changes in the town, she's still unprepared for what she finds upon her return: A giant saucer hovers over the entire city, as it has since shortly after she and her family left. Stranger yet, a girl she doesn't know, Noel, is waiting for her, claiming that they have met before. Confused, Nonaka tries to focus on reconnecting with her old friends, but odd memories, suppressed in the wake of her mother's death, begin to float to the top of her consciousness. Can it be that she has met Noel before? And how does this connect with the appearance of the saucer itself? To solve the riddle, Nonoka must join with her friends and rediscover the events that occurred before she left Lake Kiriya.

“Celestial Method,” also known as “Sora no Method,” is a heartwarming anime that beautifully combines drama, fantasy, and the charm of everyday life. Aired from October 5, 2014, to December 28, 2014, the series consists of 13 episodes1.

The story is set in Kiriya City, where a giant saucer mysteriously appears in the sky1. The plot revolves around a group of friends who once attempted to summon a flying saucer to grant their wishes1. The protagonist, Nonoka Komiya, returns to Kiriya City after seven years and begins to remember her past and the friends she left behind1.

One of the standout aspects of “Celestial Method” is its high-quality animation1. The depiction of the saucer and the city are particularly impressive, capturing the beauty and mystery of the setting1. The character designs are unique and appealing, adding to the overall visual experience1.

However, it’s worth noting that some viewers have criticized the anime for its simplicity and way of storytelling2. While these elements could have been better executed, they do not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment of the series2.

Despite being a drama anime, “Celestial Method” also explores themes of friendship and personal growth1. The interactions between Nonoka and her friends are heartwarming and serve as the emotional core of the series. As Nonoka uncovers the mysteries connecting her past, the saucer, and their once cherished wishes together1, she also learns valuable lessons about friendship, perseverance, and self-discovery1.

In conclusion, “Celestial Method” is a captivating anime that offers a fresh take on the drama genre. Its blend of thrilling fantasy elements, engaging character dynamics, and heartfelt moments makes it a must-watch for any anime fan.
