Editor's Review
“Girls Beyond the Wasteland” is an anime series that aired from January 7, 2016, to March 24, 2016. The series consists of 12 episodes and is a unique blend of slice-of-life and drama genres.
The story revolves around Buntarou Hojo, a high school student who has a talent for writing but no real direction in life or any plans for the future. His classmate, Sayuki Kuroda, notices his talent and decides to help him find a way to use it properly by enlisting him in her bishoujo game development group. When Buntarou is cornered in the men’s bathroom at school by Sayuki, he is surprised when he is asked out on what he thinks is a date, and even further surprised when he finds out that it’s not a date, but a job interview.
One of the standout aspects of “Girls Beyond the Wasteland” is its unique premise. The series takes full advantage of its setting in the world of bishoujo game development and delivers a story that is both engaging and insightful.
However, “Girls Beyond the Wasteland” is not without its flaws. Some viewers may find the series to be mundane and hard to sit through. The plot can be predictable at times, and some may find the pace of the series too slow. Despite these minor issues, “Girls Beyond the Wasteland” remains a solid slice-of-life anime that offers a fresh perspective on the genre.
The animation quality is consistent, and the voice acting remains true to the characters. The series also features an impressive original soundtrack that enhances the viewing experience.
In conclusion, “Girls Beyond the Wasteland” is a unique anime that offers a fresh perspective on the slice-of-life and drama genres. While it may lack a deep plot or complex character development, it more than makes up for it with its unique premise, charming characters, and endearing storyline. If you’re a fan of slice-of-life anime with a touch of drama, “Girls Beyond the Wasteland” might be worth a watch.
