Editor's Review
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic is an anime adaptation of a light novel series by Kurokata. It follows Ken Usato, a healing mage in a fantasy world, who faces various challenges and dangers.
The anime is a refreshing take on the isekai genre, as it focuses on the role of a support character rather than a typical hero. Ken is not a chosen one, but an accidental summon who gets dragged into a war between two kingdoms. He has no combat skills, but he has a rare talent for healing magic, which he uses in unconventional and creative ways. He also has a quirky personality, often being sarcastic, stubborn, and reckless.
The anime has a good balance of comedy, action, and drama, as it explores the themes of friendship, loyalty, and courage. The animation is decent, with some impressive scenes of magic and battles. The character designs are appealing, and the voice acting is fitting. The opening and ending songs are catchy and upbeat.
The anime is not without flaws, however. The pacing is sometimes uneven, and the plot can be predictable and clichéd at times. Some of the characters are underdeveloped, and the villains are not very memorable. The anime also ends on a cliffhanger, leaving many questions unanswered.
Overall, The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic is an enjoyable and entertaining anime that offers a different perspective on the isekai genre. It has a likable protagonist, a fun premise, and a humorous tone. It may not be a masterpiece, but it is worth watching for fans of fantasy and comedy.
