Solo Leveling reveals behind the scenes in Crunchyroll documentary

A Crunchyroll announced that it is producing a two-part documentary, in partnership with the Parisian AllSoon the production of adaptation for anime series from the novel Solo Levelingentitled “THE LEVEL OF SOLO LEVELING“. The documentary will cover everything from the creation to the preview events of the anime series in South Korea and Japan.

Chugong started publishing digitally Solo Leveling in July 2016. An adaptation webtoon by Jang Sung-rak was published on KakaoPage, ending in December 2021. Unfortunately, in July 2022, artist Jang Sung-rak, better known as DUBUpassed away due to a worsening of his chronic illness.

Aniplex released a trailer and revealed that the Solo Leveling anime series will premiere on January 6, 2024 on Crunchyroll.

The novel has an adaptation anime with animation is by studio A-1 Pictures (86: Eighty-Six, Sword Art Online, Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and directed by Shunsuke Nakashige (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory). Meanwhile, the script is by Noboru Kimura (Gundam Build Divers, Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!), character design by Tomoko Sudo (Alice in Borderland, Fragtime) and music by Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Blue Exorcist, Kill la Kill, Mobile Suit Gundam UC).

Solo Leveling Synopsis

Ten years ago, after the “Portal” that connects the real world with a world of monsters opened, some ordinary people were given the power to hunt the monsters in the portal. They are known as hunters. However, not all hunters are strong. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, an E rank hunter. I am someone who has to risk his life in the weakest dungeons, “The weakest in the world”. So, without having any skills at my disposal, I can barely make money in low-level dungeons… At least until I find a hidden dungeon with the highest difficulty within Rank D! In the end, while accepting my death, I gained a new power…
