A Sony announced which will acquire the iSIZEa British company specializing in artificial intelligence for video streaming.
In the statement we can read:
The acquisition provides SIE with significant experience in applying machine learning to video processing, which will benefit a range of our R&D efforts, as well as our video and streaming services.
For example, the company has built an AI-based perceptual preprocessing solution that enables conventional third-party encoders to produce higher quality video at a significantly lower bitrate.
