The official website for the anime adaptation of Sword of the Demon Hunter (Kijin Gentōshō) by Moto’o Nakanishi announced that the production committee decided to postpone the premiere to 2025 due to production delays. The anime series was scheduled to premiere on June 27th with a 1-hour special.

Kazuya Aiura (Assassins Pride, Hori-san to Miyamura-kun (OAV)) is directing the anime at the studios of Yokohama Animation Lab. The story begins in the Edo period in Japan and revolves around Jinta, a bodyguard for a priestess in a remote mountain village. Although Jinta is a stranger in the village, he is still tasked with searching for a demon in the forest on a quest to defeat it. But when he encounters the devil, he tells him an enigmatic and mysterious future. The novel’s story spans 170 years, from the Edo period to the Heisei period, with the protagonists traveling through space and time, while at the same time searching for meaning for why they wield a sword.
