Honeko Akabane is an ordinary high school student. The daughter of a lawyer, she just wants to live a normal life – even if it means scolding her childhood friend, the always violent Ibuki Arakuni, whenever he gets into fights with random people.
However, Ibuki keeps a secret that only he knows – Honeko was adopted by her current parents and is actually the illegitimate daughter of a yakuza leader. It turns out that the boss is retiring and many people in her gang are wanting to take her place; since Honeko is her heir, they want to kill her to tie up any loose ends.
And so Ibuki must protect Honeko from a variety of criminals, without letting her know about her true parentage. Can he act as her bodyguard and, at the same time, keep her unaware of her situation?
