Teaser trailer for the anime Kijin Gentoushou

O official site adaptation to anime from the novel Kijin Gentoushou (Sword of the Demon Hunter) by Motoo Nakanishi, which premieres in 2024, released a new teaser trailer and promotional image.

The animation is by the Yokohama Animation Lab studio, directed by Kazuya Aiura (Assassins Pride, Hori-san to Miyamura-kun). While the script is by Deko Akao (Assassins Pride, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Noragami) and character design by Taro Ikegami (Lapis Re: LiGHTs). Ryuuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa and Kuniyuki Takahashi from MONACA are composing the music.

A Futabasha Publishing House started publishing the novel Kijin Gentoushou in June 2019. Additionally, an adaptation for mango by Yuu Satomi (Kekkai no Noah, Mushihime, Yakedo Shoujo) had its first compilation released in Japan on September 9, 2021.

Synopsis of Kijin Gentoushou

‘Why do you wield a sword, human?’ In the mountain village of Kadono, six hundred miles from Edo, there lived a shrine maiden named Itsukihime. While subduing a demon in the forest, Jinta, his bodyguard, encounters a strange demon who prophesies a distant future. Thus, from the Edo period to the modern world, an epic takes place centered on a demon who travels through time, questioning the meaning of conflict.
